Donna Horn

Donna has worked in the media accessibility arena since 1986. She was part of the group of captioning leaders that pushed for the development and universal implementation of the captioning decoder chip - installed in almost every new television set manufactured in the U.S. since 1993.
As Vice President of Business Development, Donna is an integral part of the strategic planning and execution of CaptionMax's media accessibility goals and initiatives. She leads the search for new and emerging markets as well as managing CaptionMax's key client accounts. Donna represents CaptionMax at industry trade shows, conferences and seminars. Her knowledge and experience in the entertainment and educational markets is put to good use internally as well - Donna assists in the training of new sales and operations staff members.
Donna frequently presents information on captioning, audio description and media accessibility issues, most recently at New York Women in Cable & Telecommunications events, the Office of Special Education Programs conference at the U.S. Department of Education, and the National Center for Technology Innovation conference. She has been recognized by the Recording Industry Association of America for her role in making music accessible to people who are deaf and hard of hearing.
Outside of CaptionMax Donna is involved in the NY Food Bank and fundraising for her daughter's public school. She takes advantage of New York's diverse cultural arts and regularly attends theatre, musical performances and galleries.
