Emily Bell

Emily Bell

Multimedia Manager

Though she's been a management drone for several years, Emily started as a caption editor and still misses the gritty, in-the-trenches realism. She looks back with great fondness on working night shift, because 8:00 a.m. is simply an unrealistic time to be awake.

CaptionMax gave Emily her first real career-type job. She's captioned, subtitled, webcast, project managed, evaluated software, written (and won) grants, authored DVDs, bought things, sold things, developed exhilarating new services, and created a Multimedia department. Emily's goal is to be able to do every job at CaptionMax.

Emily can't drive yet. She loves walking, though she rarely wears shoes appropriate to the activity. And she likes riding the bus, because it makes her feel pretty.

Growing up near the Smithsonian, she still isn't reconciled to paying museum entrance fees.

Emily used to do bullwhip tricks but hasn't practiced in a while, so if she asks you to hold a balloon in your mouth and stand very still, say no. Since living in Minnesota requires a more winter-friendly hobby, she's taking up moulage.

Emily is a big fan of Umberto Eco, ScienceBlogs, making airplane bentos, Pet Shop Boys, being right, and following rules. Emily's tragic flaw is her fear of crustaceans.

Someday, Emily will raise dairy goats. Still trying to decide on a breed.

She can talk about media accessibility literally all day. Book her for your next event! Free face painting for the kids.
