Kristi Arntzen

Kristi Arntzen

Caption Editor

After seven thankless years working in the grocery business at Rainbow Foods, Kristi decided to look for a "real" job, or one that involved reading and writing, and did not involve close contact with food. She felt confident that, with her English degree, she would find a job in no time. (After all, her mother told her so.) She finally found what she was looking for in the form of CaptionMax. (Whew!)

Now a veteran captioner and proofer of nearly 8 years, Kristi has decided to pursue the real-time aspect of this career and is currently attending Anoka Technical College to earn her AA degree in Judicial Reporting and her Broadcast Captioning certificate. As of this writing, she is capable of writing up to 140 WPM on a stenographic keyboard. (She needs to reach 225 WPM in order to graduate. Whew!)

All of this schooling, however, has left Kristi with little time to enjoy her favorite pursuits: reading poetry (esp. Margaret Atwood, Quincy Troupe, W.S. Merwin, Michael Dennis Browne, and Emily Dickinson), taking poetry classes at the Loft, going to poetry readings, (sense a pattern here?) and listening to music (esp. Luna, Gomez, Dave Matthews, Beck, and most local Minnesota music). However, she hopes that one day she will publish her very own book of poetry complete with illustrations. She currently lives in St. Paul with her adorable Itty-Bitty kitty and baby kitten Claude (named after the dude from Heroes).
