Quality & The Law

CaptionMax services, the finest in old-world hand-crafted workmanship...

Defining quality in captioning and description services is not always easy. There are always the more obvious issues such as spelling and pronunciation. There are also the more subtle issues such as whether to correct a character's mispronunciation (we don't) or whether to describe an object's color (it depends). In such cases we rely on our years of experience and our Consumer Advisory Board, a group of four deaf and four blind consumers.

If you're experiencing a problem with captions or descriptions, check out the FAQ to figure out the possible source of the problem and who you should complain to (if anyone).

If you have sent a complaint and the network or provider appears to be unresponsive, you can register your complaint to the FCC (and copy the network).

In all cases, be sure to include with your query specific information about the problem, including: the show's airdate and time, from what city and time zone you are viewing the show, and the specific nature of the problem.
