How do I turn off closed captions?
Step 1: Check your television
Use your remote control or the menu button on your television.
Press Menu > Caption > Off.
Some televisions will display captions if the volume is muted. Press the mute button again, and the captions should disappear.

Press Menu > Caption > Off.
Using a universal remote, press the PIP (Picture-In-Picture) button until you see "CC Off," then Exit/Return.
